Layout
This spacious house is spread over two levels: on the ground floor, with access to the courtyard or garden, lies the recently renovated living area comprising a kitchen and a large living-dining-and-music room in a former vaulted cellar. To the front of this are the terrace and the garden. On the upper floor, there are several bedrooms (currently 5, theoretically up to 10), three bathrooms, studios and lounges. Three separate units could also be created here. In addition, there is an approximately 50 sqm unfinished area.
Outdoor areas
Firstly, the house has an idyllic courtyard in front of the main entrance, with shady trees, a seating area and a barbecue area. From the living room, you can access the garden – which is situated one level below and covers approximately 1,000 m² – via an adjoining terrace and a staircase covered in roses. Here, alongside oleander bushes and olive trees, you’ll find various fruit trees such as cherry, apricot and kiwi, as well as citrus trees. A lovely feature: at the far end of the garden is a small water grotto.
Position
The property is located in an alley (without stairs) at the entrance of Tavole, a quiet mountain village, 473 m above the sea level, in the upper Prino valley. You can only reach the house on foot or with a scooter. To load and unload your car, you can stop at the beginning of the narrow alley, about 30 m away from the house. Tavole offers a restaurant, a small grocery shop and several bathing ponds in the nearby river. The road to Tavole is rewarded with heavenly peace and good hiking opportunities. Only about 2 km away lies the hamlet of Villatalla with 2 more restaurants. About 5 km away from Tavole, the village of Prelà offers a grocery shop, a pharmacy and some restaurants. From Tavole it takes about 16 km or 20 minutes by car to Imperia and its beautiful beaches. Imperia, which offers a marina and all the amenities of a seaside town, also enjoys the best climate in Italy – mild winters and not too hot in summer!
