Charming village house with unobstructed views and a lovely garden
This house is a rarity and unique for several reasons:
- Its location: It enjoys a peaceful setting on a hilltop above Dolcedo, with the village centre within walking distance. Thanks to its position on the edge of the village, it offers wonderful, unobstructed views of the village and the entire Valprino valley.
- Its style: It has been carefully restored using traditional materials, preserving the charm of a ‘casa signorile’ with terracotta floors, antique doors and lattice windows.

Layout
The living space is conveniently situated on a single level: an entrance terrace leads into the hallway and a spacious bathroom. This opens onto the central, bright living room with an open-plan fireplace, from which the other rooms branch off: three bedrooms, a small study, a further bathroom, and the kitchen-diner with an adjoining veranda.
In the basement there are two large cellar rooms with vaulted ceilings, a utility room and an adjoining portico.
Outdoor spaces
The garden, covering approximately 1,000 square metres across three levels, has been charmingly and formally landscaped around the house with Mediterranean plants, box hedges and herbs. Alongside olive and fruit trees, one will also find ferns, papyrus and agaves.
There is a suitable spot for every time of day: sunny terraces with seating or sun loungers, as well as a pergola providing shade, overgrown with purple wisteria. In addition to these outdoor spaces, the house features a small, sunny entrance terrace and a spacious portico, i.e. a large, covered dining area on the lowest level of the garden.
Location
The house is situated in a quiet, small lane in the San Paolo district, above Dolcedo. You can drive right up to the house; parking is available along the public road. Despite the pleasantly quiet location, it is less than a 10-minute walk to the centre of Dolcedo, which offers a variety of restaurants and shops. In around 15 minutes you can reach Imperia, which offers all the amenities of a coastal town and 300 days of sunshine a year.
